I hate when they say soda makes people obese. SUGAR in the soda and calories is making them obese. I drink diet soda. I HATE when they gloss over that. Kool Aid is almost all sugar unless it's diet.

Don't skip meals- have smaller ones more frequently.

Seriously, don't drink soda. Don't drink Koolaid either. Outside of quitting smoking, this is the most important thing you can do for your health. Regular (not diet) soda is full of high-fructose corn syrup. This stuff is much, much worse than cane sugar. If some evil genius created something in a laboratory to intentionally make people fat, diabetic, and stupid, it would look a lot like high fructose corn syrup. The safety of artificial sweeteners in diet drinks is undetermined, or so they say. There are some well documented dangers of nutrasweet/aspartame. Google it. Both soda and artificial drinks like Koolaid are full of artificial flavors andd colors which are mostly petroleum byproducts. If you don't drink from a gas pump, *don't drink these products.*

Almost anything else is better. Juice in extreme moderation, green tea, water. If you have to use honey or a little sugar to make the tea palatable, do it. If you have to drink 300 double espressos a day to stay away from soda, koolaid, or any of these artificial drinks, *do it.*

And just in case I wasn't clear enough, *DON'T DRINK SODA OR KOOLAID.*

Soda is loaded with sugar as well as carbs and sodium. Drinking Kool-Aid, however, is not any healthier for you because you have to add a ton of sugar to it to make it taste like anything. Your best bet is to drink 100% fruit juices and water. Some good fruit juices are made by Dole, V8 (Splash), Old Orchard, and Mott's. There are many more but these are great. I hope this helps you!

First, it is not healthy to skip meals, you need calories to have energy, replace your body's cells, and so on. If you starve yourself to lose weight, your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will actually slow down, causing your weight loss to stop or even reverse itself.

Second, soda is bad for you not just because of the sugar, but also because of the heavy concentration of phosphorus it contains, which damages your tooth enamel and can actually leach the calcium from your bones. So go easy on the soda, drink more water and if you are still growing, drink milk too. Skim milk can help with your weight loss also. Good luck!

Soda is full of empty calories (calories that do nothing but give you short energy bursts, or build fat, and have no nutritional value). Same with Kool-aid. You get all the bad results from it and no good results (like vitamins, etc)

Its bad to skip meals because your body starts to go into "starvation mode", it thinks you are in a condition where you cannot eat, so when it gets its next meal is automatically converts it all to fat because it doesn't know when its next meal will come from.

soda has caffeine. Kool-aid doesn't. I don't drink caffeine at all and have more energy and less headaches than I did when I used to drink caffeine. Plus, soda DOES have a lot of sugar. And caffeine is addictive. Kool-aid is still bad for you becausue you are drinking pure sugar. It would be at least a little better if you drank juices like juicy juice or even better- water.

First off......don't skip meals unless you just aren't hungry. 'They' say it's best to eat several(4-5) small meals a day than 3 main meals.
Second, for ME...it's the carbonation in soda waters that make me 'bloat.' I try to limit my intake of soda pop.

You can also get flavored water...no sugar..just a little bit of 'fruit' taste in them...that would be better for you than no water at all.

If you are trying to lose weight..... you can eat what you want(just about) if you will remember to go by the 'serving size' of anything. Don't eat after 6 PM....and never eat anyplace that is not a table. Also....cut down on salt. Salt makes you retain water.

Good luck!!

Kool Aid is a little better for you because it does have extra added vitamin C. Soda is empty calories, it has nothing good for you in it at all and the caffeine in most sodas is more than a cup of coffee. To answer your last question-no it is not healthy not to eat for a few days, your body needs nutrition to function properly.

First of all, sugar weakens your immune system. A weakened immune system is how you get sick.
Soda has phosphates in it which weaken the bones by depleting the body of calcium.
Soda also contains caffeine, which has been linked to bone loss.

The ingredient that leads to obesity is "high fructose corn syrup".

Do not skip meals, as this will cause your body to horde any fat it already has. Instead, eat several smaller snacks throughout the day; a piece of fruit here, a yogurt there. This will keep your energy up.

Oh my don't stop eating that's worse for you, you need to keep your metabolism going like pac-man, he's got to have something in there to munch on otherwise he stops and then the next thing he has in front of him he'll eat it and you'll gain more weight.

Diet soda's have aspertine in them which is a friendly but deadly chemical. and Regular soda has a LOT of sugar in it. Try lemonade or juice.
