Micro evolution has been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. Even Creationists believe that. But what they refuse to believe is that one species can become another. The scientific definition of what makes two similar animals separate different species is weather or not they can mate with each other. In other words, their genes become so different, that the union of sperm and egg will not produce an offspring. So, my answer is not necessarily. I do believe that a group of humans can become isolated from the rest of humanity for several hundred thousand years and become so different from the rest of us, that they would not be able to interbreed with us. They would no longer be human. However, it's also possible that a mutation could happen in a single human that is part of the general population where he would be born with scales. In that case, I doubt that his genetic makeup would be much different than yours or mine. This would still be a human.

It's your soul that makes you human, and it's God's love for you that gives you worth. So, regardless of how you look - I've seen people on the Discovery Channel on TV that have horrible malformities - some that don't even look human - but they are still human and God still loves and values them.

He even loves and values you.
