if you don't, where does your redemption lie? (ie being a good person, following the 10 commandments, hard worker, etc)

Please be respectful.

You are absolutely right!
I certainly could not think of ONE of us that is without sin; personally that's why I asked Jesus to forgive me of mine.
xx

You need a savior to take your place. Don't you know since Adam ate that fruit, man was doomed. Christ came to be the sacrificial offering for you. In the OT they would take animals and sacrifice them because for sins to be atoned for there had to be bloodshed. The savior of the world shed His blood for the world, but it's your responsibility to accept Him. That's just like if you're dying of thirst and you knew I had a glass of water, you'll have to acknowledge me by calling my name and beleiving that I have your need in my hand. And then you would have to have faith that I would be compassionate enough to give it to you, so you won't see Death. That's what Crist did. He did it for everybody, nut it's up to you to say Jesus I believe in you, I know you died for me and your blood was shed for all of my sins. Come into my heart and let me recive you and your spirit taht will lead and guide me. Today I believe I'm a new creature through you. SO noe Jesus I ask you to perfect my steps in your way. Renew my mind and my spirit. Create in me a clean heart, so you can dwell in there, and a renewed spirit so that I can be one with you. In the name of my Lord Jesus who is the Christ and my shepherd I pray. Thank you God for allowing me to be your sheep, for your Word says your sheep knows your voice and a stranger they will not follow. Thank you Lord for letting me be your follower, in your name, Amen. If you prayed tha prayer honey welcome to a new family, a new life, a new eternal home....HEAVEN!!!

Religion has always been about fear, threat, punishment, damnation. It was a technique invented and used by the earliest "spiritual leaders" to gain, and keep control of the largely ignorant masses. They told people that "God" was in communication with them and issued orders through them to the people. The punishment for any and all disobedience to what those "spiritual leaders" (priests) told them was God's instructions, would be eternal damnation. For centuries generation after generation people have been programmed to believe this, and it is still working. Thankfully, though, it doesn't work on everybody. Some of us were fortunate enough somehow to escape the brainwashing.

Because If I were to stand before God in my own righteousness I would fall short of His glory and there fore face his wraith. Instead I by accepting Jesus as my savior I am covered in His righteousness and can stand before God in His Glory.

It may sound like a frivolous way of putting it but I want to make this so non-believers can understand. It is like going into a club and being told that you are not dressed well enough to get in. But if you go in with the club owner's son you can say "I'm with him" and get in

Me: "I'm with Jesus"

No person can enter the Kingdom of God through good deeds or money or hard work, only by the grace of God sending His Son to die for our sins. The only way is through Jesus so He is absolutely neccessary

The penalty of sin is death. All sin; there is no "small" sin or "big" sin. To God, sin is sin and the penalty is death. Our savior, Jesus Christ, paid that penalty for us so that we may have eternal life with God, the Father. If you want eternal life with the Father, then you need the Savior, Jesus.

It\s not that we NEED a saviour! it's just what was written in the Bible...basically if you live your life according to the Christian religion, you will be chosen by the "saviour" (or God) to be next to Him in heaven...Personally I don't really believe this, even thought i was brought up a christian (and my grandfather's a greek orthodox priest) I believe that when and IF the time comes...you won't be judged by the commandments etc...but on the whole how you lived your life...I mean I'm gay, but i doubt i'd go to hell coz of that! although...if i do, at least I won't be alone! coz, name one person in the world who is without sin! lol

Basically we just can't come up to God's standards on our own. We can't do enough good works or just be good enough. Jesus, a perfect person who knew no sin was sacrificed for us. His blood offering(death) covers our sins.

Hebrews, chapter 9 verse 22

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

I don't need a saviour. I'm a grown up and can look after myself.

Redemption from what? Do you mean what gives purpose to life? For me, it's my chidren, good friends, family, food and wine, reading, learning, working, travelling, and getting as much of it as possible into one lifetime, 'cos there's nothing after this one. That's plenty.

You don't need a 'savior'. You were born right the first time.

What determines your afterlife is your memories. If you were rude and mean to others in the name of your belief system, you aren't going to have a good time in the dimension many call heaven.
