OMG! you sound just like me and the life i lead for a while with my fiance!

He says he wont be out long and doesnt return until the early hours and i've stopped shouting at him and told him if he carries on the way he is then it will get to the point where i just dont care anymore and he can lead that life if he wants - ALONE !!

I think that scared him a bit coz now when he goes for a pint he comes home practically on time, still drunk, but affectionate and loving at the same time so i dont get mad at him anymore.

Try what i did and see if you have any luck, coz if your man knows he's gonna come home to an argument or a nag he'll just stay out and take the consequences, once i stopped shouting and nagging he came home of his own accord coz he thought that maybe one day he would come back and i wouldnt be there.

It's all great now but it did take a bit of time. Whatever you decide to do good luck !

Sounds to me like you need to nag him more!!! If that was my boyfriend I'd be furious! He's taking the p*ss! It What is he doing til 5am?! I don't know many pubs that open til that time on a week day!! It sounds like he's pushing the boundaries by saying I won't be long then rolling in in the early hours. I'd be so mad if my boyfriend did that. He needs to learn some responsibility. My boyfriend came home in a drunken state once puking up all over the place. I made him sleep in the car! He hasn't done it again since! You need to have a serious word with him OR give him a taste of his own medicine - see how he likes it!

damn right you should be annoyed with him, he comes home from work, then sods off down the pub leaving you alone...THEN stumbles back in pissed up at all hours in the morning.....why does he stay out so late? what's the big attraction in the pub?....if i were you i would keep an eye on him, he may be up so something else other than drinking....i mean 5am is ridiculous....he has a job to go to and he's acting like this....honey...it's your call, do what your heart tells you, if it were me i would be onto him like a shot....if you trust him then you have nothing to worry about...but this sounds a little bit fishy to me...and no your not a nag....he's taking the mick, tell him if this happens again, then he can leave, don't put up with it

It depends on how often it happens. 2 - 3 times a year and I wouldn't make a major deal out of it.

If it's a weekly or more frequest thing though then I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to live with that.

If it's frequent he may have already developed an alcohol problem and you'd best get him some help before it destroys your relationship.

No youre not, youre reacting normally, i can see where youre coming from. I myself would be upset if my boy did that. If he says he wont be long he should keep his word. Tell him all the the negative aspects of him being on the grog all night/morning and ask him nicely if he would come home at 12 next time. If he fails to come home at that certain time, reassess the reasons why u are in this relationship because it may seem like a trivial issue to him but it serious. Get that message across to him. Hope all goes well :)

You're definitely right to be angry at him! Coming home 4-5 am-where the hell is this pub? It's certainly not open until then! I'd have a serious word with him, find out what's going on,and tell him if this keeps up,you will be out the door.

I dont think you are at all I had the same kind of trouble with my boyfriend. He would say he was going out for a while on the Friday but I wouldnt end up seeing or hearing from him to the Sunday. I think you should put your foot down and tell him your not putting up with it, and every girl feels the same believe me Igot fed all that crap, saying that I was nagging and all the rest of it. But truth is all his friends girlfriends were doing the same and still do when they go out.

course you are in the right to nag.

why dont you decide one night that he stays in while you go out till silly hours in the morning- see how he likes it.

Sit down with him and tell him that you dont mind him going out but there has to be a point where you spend time together or the relationship wont last. if hes a gent he'll make time for you and change his ways

Not sure what you mean by getting the hump. I don't think you are nagging, but I say it is time to dump this bloke. Or perhaps next time he says he is going to the pub, tell him that sounds like fun, I'll come with you.

Your not in the wrong! Its ok for a man to go to the pub for a couple after work. But to come home so late, thats just wrong!! Tell him that he needs to buck his ideas up!! or lose you.
