No, It is nice when people pay attention to what the couple is telling them. It will probably be extremely helpful especially with a new home.

I wouldn't say tacky. You know your friend -- is your friend a down to earth and practical kind of guy, or is he the all about appearances, and wants the elite and top of the line kind of guy? You're giving this gift to your friend to honor his wedding. If this friend is a practical person who doesn't give a rip about silver tea sets, then don't worry about the gift certificate. You gave a gift that this friend can genuinely use -- if he's in the same mind set of where your head was when you came up with the idea...you're gold.

No, I think that is a great gift! The whole point of the gift is to get the couple something they will use in their new life together. When all else fails gift cards are great! As a former bride, we enjoyed the gift cards the most, we got exactly what we wanted/needed for our new home/life together!

No way! I think that is a great, and very generous gift to send. Especially since you couldn't even attend the wedding. Not tacky at all (and I find tons of wedding gifts tacky!)

I think Home Depot is a really cool gift idea. The gift will be very useful to them. I do not think it is tacky at all. I think it is a very creative and useful gift. I hope that I helped you out.

i'm 1/2 Czech also and American. i really comprehend your plight. i'd a lot truly receive a heartfelt "thanks" from someone that a tacky present. i'm under no circumstances particular what I might want to do with them so I frequently throw them out first threat. i imagine between the worst presents are some Santa or Reindeer Sweatshirt with glitter. something that some 80 5 year previous woman in a nursing domicile would like. i'm basically bowled over at the same time as someone presents me with one. I thank them (not too profusely) and regift it to any older woman in a nursing domicile. i do not opt to attraction to close her. I basically give up at any nursing domicile and drop off the Santa sweatshirt all present wrapped. I ask that they provide it to three woman which couldn't have a relatives or someone which couldn't receive a present. yet another crummy present is a present of a gymnasium club or some type of exercising classification. that's about as insulting because it receives. i'm curvy and do not experience i'm overweight. 5'8" and about one hundred fifty pounds. If i needed a gymnasium club, i'd purchase it myself. As for the Brazilian travellers, I do imagine they took good thing about you for weeks. when you consider that they were really rich, they ought to have despatched you some type of present certificate or severe priced present alongside with a note of thanks for your hospitality. You saved them an outstanding quantity of money for your generosity. in the journey that they confirm to go back, i'd be busy and under no circumstances be so beneficiant as to sleep on a futon for some weeks this time. enable them bypass to a motel. You sound like a good guy. that's the 1/2 Czech!

I don't think it's tacky, but I would suggest giving them $150 check so that they can decide where they would like the money to go. Perhaps they'd rather buy something at Lowes. I didn't like getting gift cards for my wedding. Bridal shower, okay, but wedding we would have preferred the cash so we weren't strapped to spend it in the place the gift card was for.

Absolutely not tacky. $150 is very generous, and Home Depot has almost anything they could want, so I'd say that your gift is very thoughtful.
