Yes. Besides ice, warm water floats on cold water. This is important during winter fishing. There is a time (can't remember the name of the event) where the warm water cools to the cold water tempeture and the lake inverts (mixes up). This affects the feeding pattern of the fish.

I'm not a scientist but doesn't warmer water float on top of much colder water. You have the thermal layers in the oceans that submarines use to hide from one another.

yes.... lol ... you can do a mini experiment for yourself...Get a half filled glass of water and pour it in another half filled glass of water and you will see water on top floating :-).....
