Do you think it's wrong to interrupt a prayer?

I would try not to interrupt a prayer if I knew it was being said. I do not know why, I just always have felt that way.

As for the little ones, I have had excuses such as wanting a drink of water, needing to go to the potty, monsters in the closet and various other reasons not to go to bed at bedtime, but I honestly never had them say I need to pray first, lol.

Yes, I would if I felt like they were genuinely praying and not just trying to play me so that they could stay up. I do not think that it is right to interrupt prayer, but I have two kids and have been interrupted plenty of times before. I think God understands.

How old is the child? 10:00 pm seems very late for a bed time for younger children, regardless of what they're doing.

Prayer, as long as its sincere, is a very solemn act which should not be disturbed. This maybe could be the reason why silence is an unwritten rule in Churches. When praying, you are communicating with God, an expression of divine filiation between the faithful and their God.

Young children should go to bed on time. I am sure they are bored out of their skulls with prayer anyway. Prayer is no excuse for missing the sleep children need. Only a fanatic would do that.

My son is in bed by 8:30 on a school night. Sometimes I let him stay up til 10 on Saturdays. He does not pray. Anything he wants he can ask me for.

Just how long IS this 'prayer time'? If they start early it should be done with by 10...that's just an excuse to stay up later.

if bedtime was at 10 they should be ready for bed around 9:30. if they are truly in deep prayer i would let them go for a little while longer otherwise i would tell them to wrap it up and go to sleep.

No...I would let them start the prayer earlier so they will be finished by their bedtime.

My kids never go to bed before 11:30 anyway, I let them stay up to watch Roseanne.
