If so, what happened? Did you get your period a few days later...or breakthrough bleeding & also did you have a normal pregnancy? My doc told me that it was fine to start trying as soon as you finish the pack of pills but he told me that when I was on regular pills, the problem is now I'm on that pill that lets you have a period every 3 months, so that means I won't finish this pack until March & we don't want to wait that long to start to conceive! Any suggestions??

We're not really in a rush...it's just that we have wanted one for a while & now seems like a good time. We've been together for 8 yrs!

I got pregnant while I was using "The Patch". My pregnancy went fine with no problems and my little girl is now 2 years old. Ask your doctor what does it mean specifically that you finish your pack... It might have more to do with cycle regulation and determining a due date for your baby than anything else. Good luck with conceiving! I hope you get pregnant soon :)

I waited till I was done with my pack till I started to try. I do know that you should use other protection for at least three months so the chemicals in the pills are totally out of your body. I have a question for you, Why the rush? A child is a big decision and it would not hurt to put this decision off for a few months.

Well if you stop taking the pill now it's going to cause you body a bit on confusion since the hormones are going to be off, It will probably take you a month or so to adjust, but I don't really think it will hurt trying. I conceived my daughter when my doc. switched me to a diff rent type of pill and I had a completely normal pregnancy and a health baby girl

Im not sure what pill it is but I would take doctors advice if you do stop the chances are that the baby will be healthy but if there not due to chemicals in your system then you might be worse off... just wait.. you might take a long time to conceive anyway. it might be months even years.. I am into my 13 month with one m/c there is no rush. if you do go off them start charting and assessing your cycle so when you do start trying to concieve you have a good idea of when to bonk..... but most importantly have fun with it don't take it to seriously.... good luck.

I would definitely check with your doctor...I know that if you miss several pills in a row in your pack, your chances of becoming pregnant increase dramatically....But I don't know about the effects on the baby. Like I said, I would definitely check with your doctor, and see what the possible side effects of stopping in the middle of your pack are. If you need to (to avoid the usual doctor lecture...), ask him what happens if you forget to take, say 4 pills in a row (say you left them at home when you went on vacation oe something). It's always worth a shot.....

Good Luck!

The pill messes up your hormonal balance. Give your body a break and give it a few months to re-establish its balance before you get pregnant. The system is so incredibly complex and well balanced, I find it appalling that people think they can abuse it like they do without bad consequences.

Id say play it safe...stop your pack and use condoms for a few months and then try. Better to have a safe and healthy pregnancy than be selfish and have soemthing bad happen.

You could stop them now..wait until you go through a normal cycle and then try.
