I am traveling for the first time since the liquid ban.

Can I bring cologne, acne wash, toothpaste, deodorant, vitamins, hair gel, and hair nutrients etc?

There is no rule that sais you cant bring those things onto the plane, however to bring them through security they need to be in 3 ounce or less bottles and you need to have them in a clear-ziplock bag. If you choose to buy these articles AFTER security at a shop, you can bring whatever you want aboard.

The items that you are questioning you can take on the aircraft - anything that is in liquid or gel form, must be 3 oz or less and packed in a 1 qt clear ziploc type bag, if you are bringing them in your carry on luggage. If you are packing them in your checked luggage, you are not restricted by size. If you have more questions I would suggest that you visit the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what you can and can bring on the aircraft with you in both your carry on and checked luggage.

That is the TSA Approved list and it helps you about liquids to and how they must be packed a certain way.

All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller.
All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag.
Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.
