Sorry to differ from Mcfifi but my mother in law died five months ago aged ninety five and the death certificate said the cause of death was old age, with no other medical reason given. Any one can die at any time but over seventy start worrying.

There is a disease called progeria that ages a person prematurely, so most die of old age in childhood.

You can't officially die of old age.
All death certificates have to include a specific medical cause of death, whatever the age of the deceased.

I would say at least 80. People younger then that die from heart attacks or cancer. You have to be pretty old to just peter out.

No one really dies of old age, its just that certain systems within the body begin to shut down.
