Depends on what brand (or make) your regular SLR lenses are. Nikon, Pentax and Sony (Minolta) DSLRs will accept lenses from some film SLRs without adapters. Nikon DSLRs can use virtually any Nikon auto or manual focus F-mount lens. Pentax DSLRs will use almost any of their old auto or manual focus K-mount SLR lenses Sony and Minolta DSLRs will accept almost any of the Minolta Auto-focus Maxxum SLR lenses (They will NOT accept Minolta manual focus SLR lenses without an adapter, if one is even available) Canon DSLRs will accept Canon EF mount lenses (also used on the Canon EOS/Rebel series of auto-focus film SLRs). Canon DSLRs will NOT accept lenses from the old Canon manual-focus SLRs without an adapter (again, if anyone is even making one) Be aware that there are certain lenses in each brand that ARE NOT compatible. Do your research BEFORE cramming a particular lens on your DSLR

Depends on the brand, and on the age. My old Canon AE lens might work with an adaptor but I wouldn't want to. AF lens which work on Canon film SLRs will work on a Canon digital SLR, but I'm not sure if they work on any other brands.

If your lenses are autofocus and you stay with the same camera body brand ... chances are good they will work!

You would have to check the owner's manual or perhaps the manufacturer's web site. Or, if you are patronizing a local camera shop, they would be able to tell you.

In the manual, there would be a list of lenses that are compatible and which features would still be functional.

Yes you can! If they are the same brand of camera and that lens is compatible with it.
