University of Toronto, Calgary and McGill all have good programs in social work. Go to their websites and get admissions information. There is a big difference between graduate programs in social work and sociology (also at undergrad level as well). Social work is more applied and sociology more theoretical.

Foreign students wishing to study in Canada need to have 1) a letter of acceptance from a college or university 2) a sponsor here who is willing to be responsible for them while they attend university/college. There are a number of universities which have sociology courses....York, University of Toronto, McGill, Queens, Windsor, as well as those in the western part of the country. I happen to teach at Toronto (not sociology) so I am preferential to UofT .... it is a large university with many foreign students.
