How can i help reduce the chance of getting skin cancer besides avoiding sun and wearing sunscreen???

Be careful what lotion, soaps, and body washes you use, and always read the label and research the product.

The American Academy of Dermatology advises everyone to engage in the following sun protective practices:

avoid outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun’s rays are the strongest.
seek shade whenever possible.
wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15.
reapply sunscreen every two hours.
wear sun-protective clothing.
