I met someone at a Halloween party and we have spent the last 2 months getting to know one another. All of a sudden the Friday before New Years they told me that they could not do this, they were investing too much in the "feeling dept" and I wasn't and that they didn't want to get hurt. Do you think at possible to love in 2 months?Do think that they were being truthful about the reason the broke it off? And I didn't even get a chance to explore my feelings on the matter...

The other person got scared and felt the relationship was moving to fast for them to handle and that they probably would do something they would regret later. The person was fair and honest with you and didn't want to start the new year with a lie. I think you should bow out without questioning and respect the persons honest answer which is not often given. Best wishes to you and that person throughout 2007.

New Year Eve is means so much to some people. It means a special romantic date with a special someone in that moment. You mention “We” and “They” These tell me that you and them was not a romantic relationships in the first place. Maybe it was nothing big, they just want to be with someone for a special moment. Just move on, it never work out for you.

He is a game player. Plays a little, then moves on to play with someone else. Let him be, there is nothing to explore.
