Here's the situation, I'm traveling in the center lane of a 3 lane highway. I'm doing the posted speed limit (or maybe 5 miles over). The left and right lanes are both open for you to pass me if you choose to do so. Why do you insist on passing me on the right?

I know...and why are these people always driving huge SUVs or trucks? I think this is this some kind of barbaric show of power. Like theyre saying..."on the off chance that this is your exit...i will go this way so i have a better chance at completely demolishing you and your small children"

technically if both lanes are open you are supposed to be in the right hand lane unless it is designated for an exit. people pass on the right because on a 3 lane highway unless you have to use the third lane it is generally a good idea to leave it clear for emergency vehicles.

Why do you insist on being in the center lane? You want the person in lane 3 (far right) to change over two lanes to pass you? You know that won't happen. So, obey and rules, and stay in the right lane except to pass. Problem solved. Next question please...
