Look for whatever reason we all go through these days of wanting someone special. Just be yourself. Leave your ex alone. You should be proud of yourself especially if you have high standards, which is really good. If you are a really good person, guys with high standards will see this and will really respect you. You would be the type that they would want to someday marry and raise a family. Never ever lower your standards. You do not want to get involved with anyone at any time of your life who does not have high standard. You can tell who they are, most of the time you will meet someone at the most unexpected time and place. Be patient and pray to "God" he will take care of you and will provide you with the "right" person.

c'mon you know how to turn on that charm..flirt with the one you want. stand by him and pinch him in tha butt if he can't get the hint. most young men do not know the meaning of flirtation. be persistent..yet cautious, stand in the back drop and when he glances over at you give that cute little blush of yours and bat your eyebrows with a shy smile. As for the ex,do some investigating. since you have been turning him away perhaps he may be retaliating by saying unkind things about you and that could be a strong possible in the equation as to y the other guys are standing back(just a theory). best wishes..stick to learning you will get better results in the long run and stay away from the boys there are more important things you can do.. get into drama classes.

That's life.
The reason for the ones who do not want you is actually the same reason why you don't want those who wants you ;-)
So, lower your expectation or change a little in who you are or do or say, by being confident about yourself. Highlight your strongest asset or your best character.... what you do best.
Concerning your ex. just tell him, You can continue trying and waste your time and effort, but I will never give you a chance anymore. And after a while it will stop (a month or two).

Why not just take the friends option with one of the guys you do like and see if it develops into something. Ignore the ex completely and he will soon get the picture.

Tip from someone in sales. When you show how badly you want a guy, the less you will get one. When I really wanted a sale, I never got it. If I showed that I didn't need it, I usually got it
