My boyfriend thinks its gross i that before i met him had a "friend with benefits" and we were not in a relationship. Meanwhile i have had 4 partners my whole life (including him) and he has had 15! he says thats fine though because at least he was in a relationship with all these girls.

i say he doesnt have a pot to piss in.

does he have a point? i dont say anything about his multiple parnters unless he brings up my "special friend". he says it disgusts him which i think is dumb. me and my "sex buddy" were both adults with a mutual understanding...i think my boyfriend is just young (he is 3 yrs younger) lots of adults do this from time to time right?

there is NOTHING wrong with 2 consenting adults to be sex buddies. we sometimes cannot make the relationship work outside the bedroom but enjoy each others company. if neither of you were seeing anyone else as you were sex buddies then all is NORMAL! tell him to get over it or move on. maybe he is not right for you. i personally would rather have sex with 1 person a million times than a million people 1 time. tell him that his 15 is FAR worse than your 4 (specially cuz you are older than he is) good luck with him!

People of your "Y" generation, maybe have relationships like yours. People that are older generally do not. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, it just isn't thought of in the same casual way. My generation also believes oral sex is sex, if that says anything about almost turning 40.

I believe he is jealous maybe of your sexual freedom. When you get older I'd bet you will find that was the case. Good luck with this relationship and future ones, as I believe this won't turn into anything serious. THE OLD DOUBLE STANDARD WELL IN PLAY BY HIM; if you don't get that, ask your parents.

Simply put it to him this way. You and your friend with benefits had a relationship. It may not of been one that was based on love but there was something there. In all reality they usually wind up back together later in life. You can also tell him would he rather prefer you going out with different guys and sleeping with them.

if hes this immature, why are you with him? the fact that he actually sat and calculated all his past lovers shows that he really is a child, i dont care how old he is- he shouldnt be in a real relationship. that you even told him about it and are comparing numbers of lovers with him bothers me about you too. theres a reason why its called 'the past'. whatever happened should be left to pass-at least, it has no bearing on your relationship now. the important thing is the here and now. who are you and who is he now? can you love each other just the way you are? its really simple.

Double standard...it's cool for him to have had many partners but not for his girlfriend oh no! He's jealous. Really. What you did in the past is none of his business.
