He has been tested and they say his hearings is fine. However, when I was little I had speech trouble and my parents brought me to 4 different DR's and finallyu one decided I needed tubes and it worked, so I'm wondering if hes like me. Could this be it or something else? any help is appreciated!!!

Yes he very well could have, my nephew who's 5 has a speech difficulty, my sister took him to many doctors, they all said his hearing was fine, and he just didn't have anything to say, he would when he was ready, finally they took him to a specialist, he got ear tubes and during surgery they took out almost 1/4 cup of fluid and wax buildup out of his little ears, they said he could hear before and he could but it was all garbled up. to where he couldn't make it out, but now, he seems to be growing and learning to talk better, Good Luck

Is your son doing everything else normally for his age? If so then it could just be a speech delay...Talk to your doctor it may help to have him evaluated by a speech therapist as well as the audiologists. My daughter has perfect hearing but little speech. She's been going to a speech teacher 3 times a week since May 2006, and she is now talking sentences. Speech delays are more common than people seem to notice. Not only developmentally delayed children are delayed in speech as most have been made to believe. Any child can have a speech delay. If speech classes are unsuccessful it may be an issue of tubes But why put the poor kid through that if it's not needed?
Good luck!

Dr's don't advocate the tubes as frequently as they used to because the scarring from them interferes with hearing later on in life.
Make sure that you are not enabling him not to talk by doing what he wants when he points and uses signs with you. If you have had him at a reputable hearing center and they found no problems, chances are he doesn't talk because you all make life where he doesn't have to in order to get what he wants.
Patience is the key here.

Are you still giving him a cup with a spout? I was doing that for my daughter because I didn't want her dumping stuff into the carpet. When she turned four, I was still the only one who could understand her speech. One of my online friends in England told me that they were saying not to use sippy cups anymore because they cause speech problems. So I took away the cups with spouts and gave her cups with straws instead, and her speech improved dramatically.

each so often even as someone wears the ear phones that honestly insert into the ear canal wax is pushed into the ear and must be professionally wiped clean out by way of a healthcare professional. it would want to reason non everlasting listening to loss-it would want to also reason lengthy time period loss and tinnitus- a consistent noise contained in the ears. Get his ears checked- many colleges grant this for loose and in case you report it in writing the college district can have the capacity to deliver him for an total evaluation because it would want to and would have already affected his college artwork.

Have you had him tested for autism? Thats one of the signs of that condition...maybe you should check in to that
As for the ear thing...if you think he might need tubes then do what your parents did and take him until you get an answer that you are comfortable with

Yes, you are right something is delaying him, make sure you take him to a specialist until you find out, and get help, soon he'll be in school with other kids and you want him to be able to communicate with others. You are the parent make sure you follow your instincts.
