I have a bunch of Walmart and Target gift cards laying around and I will never use them so I assume just to go and buy beer with them and throw a party for my family and friends. However, one of my good friends said you can't buy beer with giftcards (from places like Walmart and Target). Is this true?

No Walmart or Target I've ever been to will allow this. I've only been to the ones in Mississippi and Virginia though. I'm not really sure of the reasons behind it, but in general nope - they won't let you. Sorry =(

Alcohol sales are regulated and restricted, so some types of gift cards cannot be used. If it was free (like some sort of store give away) or if there is a discount you probably cannot use the card. If it is just a regular gift card, then it is basically the same as cash and may be used for anything. Individual stores may have different policies, though.

You could call and ask them. But, as long as you are of age...I'm pretty sure that you can buy whatever you want.

Have fun!!!
