the best waves on the lowere east cost or carribian islands?
Are there any waves in the Dominican Republic? My familt wishes to go someplace tropical for vacation in april, but I would like to find something with surfing for my oldest son. Where should I go?

Indonesia has the worlds best surfing, is tropical, but a long flight from where you are.
So if you can bear the flight, it will be your best bet.
I go every year for a month, and always get great uncrowded waves, heaps of sun, great food, and it costs next to nothing to live there.

For surfing, the east coast is not very reliable in April. Caope Hatteras can be nice, if it is not stormy and chilly This is in the Carolinas however and not really tropical. The Caribbean is tricky surf wise because it deoends on wind to really push the waves and can at times be rather calm. South Florida might suit your plans and you can also visit Disneyworld for the younger set.
