I love my electric blanket, or I did, ours quit working, but had it a long long time, but plan on getting another one because they are great. I think they can save money, because we turn our heat down at night, and Im sure this cost less while you sleep. If you have a partner in bed with you, get one with dual controls, so you can each set it to what you want.

My wife's family swear by them, but I find it uncomfortable to have a stiff wire running through my blanket. Also, because you are plugged in, you cannot roll over if you are wrapped up in the blanket.
It will definitely keep you warm, but I would rather just turn the heat up a little.

We use them at the cottage all the time. They are fantastic when it's particularly cold. The other option is to use very expensive electric space heaters. So, I think they're wonderful, and really keep you warm and toasty.

For being comfortable in a nice warm bed with the air temperature low, they are fantastic. Can they pay for themselves vs using house heat, questionable.

I have one myself and i love it. If your house is particularly cold, i would definately recommend it!
Mine has an all-night setting too, so it can be turned down low and left on all night. Keeps you nice and toasty
