I've never made wine from a kit, but I've had 2 batches from scratch turn out really well. My main source of help was www.eckraus.com It it a commercial site, but offers lots of essays and step-by-step guidelines. Another site from a very knowledgeable guy is: winemaking.jackkeller.net

with quality ingredients and sterile equipment.
If you are just starting out, try a quality kit them move onto raw ingredients once you have the process sorted out.
kits are easy, ask in your local brewshop and they will have all the friendly advice you need.
I make about 200 bottles of beer, 400 bottle of cider, and 300 bottle of wine a year
( ours is a popular house, cant think why ! )
