I am not here to judge you but to let you know how I feel. My belief is that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is Holy, the Almighty, the Messiah, my Redeemer and my friend. I don't feel that I would be a Christian and not believe that the Lord is Holy. Everywhere I go in my Bible it states that Jesus is Holy. I believe the Bible is the truth. Yes, Jesus was and still is a great teacher to all of us, young and old. For none of us become to old to learn.

Now I would like to say this. Anyone that doesn't believe that Jesus is Holy, should get into their Bible more often. Jesus was talked about in the Old Testament not just the New Testament. His coming was told a long time before it happened.

But it is to each his own. My Bible says that Christ is Holy and the Bible is truth.

God bless you and have a fantastic year.

I would like to add Coptic has said it more clearly than I. I just hit on the high notes and did not seek to further educate you. Very well written.

What is your question?

+ Jesus Christ +

There are a few groups of people who accept Jesus as a teacher or prophet but not part of the Holy Trinity. Some of these groups are Muslims, Buddhists, and a few Christians like Mormons.

Mainstream Christians including Catholics believe that Jesus was totally man and totally God.

By the way, the title "Christ", means:
- Messiah
- Anointed one
- Holy one

+ Holy +

The Bible states that anyone who possesses the Holy Spirit is holy. The Bible speaks of a holy man of God, holy ones, a holy people, a holy nation, and holy brothers.

That is why Mary is blessed (holy). The angel Gabriel called her, "Full of grace" and, "The Lord is with you."

With love in Christ.

If you do not believe in Jesus Christ then you can not be a Christian. But Jesus knew that some would feel this way, so he told you believe on his name or on the works that he does. Or believe someone else, But believe in God, the Father.
Those who believe in him (all others) are not condemned, but those who believe not (in God) are condemned already, because they have not believe in the only begotten son.

I am sorry but you are not a Christian. Christianity is believing that Christ is the son of God. Believing in God, but not that Christ is the son of God, means you believe more in the lines of the Jewish faith. Maybe you should read up on both religions and decide what works for you. Really though you cannot be a Christian and not believe that Christ is as holy as God.

I believe the same way you do--he was a great man, and his teachings deserved to be followed, but the even the early church didn't declare him divine until after Christianity was adopted by Rome. Some saw him as the Son of God, some saw him as God himself, and some saw him as a great teacher. The bishops of the early church gathered at Nicea around 300 AD and that's when they decided to proclaim him the son of God. You should read the Gnostic Bible--it is a series of books found after the New Testament was set, and those books treat him as a great rabbi, not God. They are just as devout, and I think they are even more beautiful than the New Testament.

I guess you have not really thought through this point carefuly...

If you claim to be a Christian, then you can start by looking into your claim...if you break down the term 'Christian', you get 2 parts..."Christ" + "ian"...
Now, "Christ" is pretty clear, you know who He is...but the 'ian' part is a derivative which means a "follower, believer, belonging to...etc"...eg "Austral-IAN", meaning that you are full citizen and belonging to the completness of Australia.
as a Christ-IAN, you should thus be a full believer into what Chrit has taught and said, including who He claimed of Himself to be...for example, he refers to Himself as the "Son of God", "the Alpha & the Omega", "Coming to judge the world" (as God)...but perhaps the most powerful claim is when He said to Philip "I in the Father and the Father in me...I and the Father are One."

Thus, from such claims, you can see that He clearly taught that He is God...so you are either a full follower or you are not.

Having said that, I do commend you courage to post such a question...I see that as a sign of someone who is trying to think through things...and if you think that Christ was a 'good teacher', then atleast trust when He says "seek and you shall find"...thus seek the truth about yourself and Him...ask Him to reveal to you the Truth about who HE is, and what You mean to Him, and what He means to you...if you need help, let me know.

well done mate...God bless you always.

The problem with that is that He can't just be a great teacher, or prophet. In all that He did and all that He said, He proclaimed to the world that He was the Son of God. So either He is divine, or He's a liar.

Look at every single word He said in the New Testament and you will find that no one can find a single untruth in any other subject. Decide for yourself by seeing what the others of that time said about Him, by examining His words. Is He truly the Son of God, or not?

If you find that you just can't believe Jesus to be divine, then please don't just stop believing in God, find a religion that can bring you closer to Him ... look into the Judaic and Muslim faiths and find the one that helps bring you closer to Him.

After all, Jesus pointed the way to God for us who belong to Him, if you can find another way to get to the same goal, go for it!

You cannot be a Christian unless you have confessed Jesus is your Lord (ie God) and your Savior. You have to believe Jesus is the Son of God to be saved (john 3:16).

Try to find what makes you believe and what makes you not believe. You will get the answer and live with it. Be honest and open minded is the way.
