My mother stayed with us for 2-mo and we found out she stole from & lied to us. I am now ill and she wants to come stay with us to care for me. She is my mother and I love her, I have forgiven her & want to allow her to come stay with us again. I have told her we know about the lies & theft, she denies it all, though we have proof. What is the Christian thing to do?

The Christian thing to do, is to forgive your mother but "watch and pray". As far as having her in your house again, the trust factor is gone, and she has to work her way back up to the trust factor if she is to stay again. I'm glad you brought it to her attention, but now you must let her know you have proof, and ask her why in the world did she do it? For drugs? For power? Just to be mean? To make a statement?

Get someone else to care for you if that's an option. I wouldn't trust her back in my home. Being a Christian doesn't make you an idiot. Forgive her, but, as the saying goes, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on ME"!
She's not sorry for what she did, so you cannot allow her back until she repents of what she's done.

the christian thing to do is forgive but not forget. i am sorry that u r so sick. if u allow your mother to care for u, than i suggest locking up all jewelery and money in a box at the bank. also lock up anything u don't want to get stolen.

The Christian thing to do would be to disavow her, because in order to love Jesus you have to hate your parents.
I'd be concerned with the more ethical thing to do. If you believe your mother deserves a second chance, then by all means invite her back. But you know the Texas proverb: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
