There is a real interesting word to do a search and study on.

Abrogation

At first Muhammad went to the jews and christians (I use the term christians loosely, the christians around Muhammad back then were gnostics ...basically a cult..)

Anyway, he tried to convert them and teach them and they rejected his teachings and for years he had like 6 followers. When his popularity increased and he actually gained some political and military power his "methods" changed from peacefully considering jews and christians "brothers" to that lovely term "infidel". Only after he got money and power did he "abrogate" previous laws. In other words...."Oh all that stuff about peace is bunk because the most recent thing I said is the most important." The previous laws and verses were abrogated and therefore not to really be applied to a muslims life. The last way Muhammed was was the fighting man who wanted his followers to drive all the infidels off the Sinai Penninsula. So when they say it is a religeon of peace...they are wrong. This is what I've been reading up on and why I believe there is so much conflict around the world that involves muslims. Moderate muslims have 5 pillars, but fanatics have 6 pillars they follow. so there is a difference

SHEEP IN A ROW BOAT:

You say you’ve been reading, I think you’ve been working to misrepresent the facts.

Ok lets take a look:

Muhammad (pbuh) spent 10 years preaching to the Pagans and probably some Christians as well. You the said:

“When his popularity increased and he actually gained some political and military power his "methods" changed”

Ok you site the reason as to why the “methods” changed down to gaining political and military power. Incorrect let’s look at the following verse:

Will you not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to DRIVE OUT THE MESSENGER and did attack you first?
Quran Tawba Chapter 9 Verse 13

Drive out the messenger from where? His home in Makkah, after the Prophet’s uncle passed away he had no protection in Makkah and the Makkans attempted to take his life and took all that he owned, but the Prophet managed to escape to Yathrib (modern day Medina).

This is oppression and this is what Allah has to say on oppression:

And what is wrong with you that you do not fight in the way of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this city, whose people are unjust, and appoint to us from You one who will protect us, and appoint to us from You a help”

Quran An-Nisa Chapter 4 Verse 75

If the Prophet (pbuh) wanted wealth and Military power he had it at his finger tips in Makkah, he was rich and after his uncle passed away he could have become the leader of an Arab tribe.

The verses that refer to the People of the book in a negative way is when an event has taken place when for example at the Battle of the Trench when Yathrib was besieged for a month, the Jews then allies of the Muslim betrayed them and switched sides and were going to attack the Muslims from within the city. This is known as high treason.

However Muslims still respect the People of the Book. There are only five pillars of Islam, I don’t know where you got six from.

If you want an unbiased view read the stuff your reading and read some stuff that is written by Islamic authors try this:

Peace and War in the Life of Muhammad (saw) by Zakaria Bashier

I don`t know why you hate muslims so much, what they have done to you
Yes Islam is a religion of peace, yu can find that I am saying the truth if yu read quran.
May be there are some acts from individuals that show some violent but don`t take these actions as a general sign. may be they don`t have other ways to show there openion , but still I don`t say that this is right .
Or if i saw a christian Blowing himself or attacking someone, I don`t have t say that christians are violent human-beings . Right ? as this is an individual act

Maria u have just taken the one side view. This is all that is called the reaction of "what is happening with the muslims in the whole world."
i think u must read the history even that written by non-muslims. islam is a religion of peace and it provide the guidelines not only for muslims but to whole humanity. islam does not teach that one should tease his neighbours as they r non-muslim.

Deu 20:16 Whenever you capture towns in the land the LORD your God is giving you, be sure to kill all the people and animals.

Deu 20:10 Before you attack a town that is far from your land, offer peace to the people who live there. If they surrender and open their town gates, they will become your slaves. But if they reject your offer of peace and try to fight, surround their town and attack. Then, after the LORD helps you capture it, kill all the men. Take the women and children as slaves and keep the livestock and everything else of value.

can you read?

Because the verses are there, and still we are to be fooled into believing the fairy-tale "peace" thing.
