None of these people know what they are talking about.

The answer is no, you can't. The United States is not issuing visas for unskilled labor at this time. The only visas available, and in limited quantity, are for professionals (college educated) with occupations in high demand in the United States (nurses, physical therapists, math and science teachers, etc...).

The Au Pair program is only for Europe and it not intended to act as a pseudo nanny or caregiver.

Age isn't the issue. You need to get a work visa or both you and the employer can get yourselves into trouble.

I place and train nannies for a living (own a national placement agency) and I get SO SICK AND TIRED of parents trying to save a few bucks by hiring illegally.

Please go to the Dept. of immigration and follow the necessary steps. Your new employers are attempting to get a nanny without paying taxes and in the mean time, I can promise you that you will get paid VERY POORLY for your efforts with their children.

Watch yourself! Your own motives are fine. The motives of your new employers are less than admirable.

I love it...people will pay $75.00/ hour to have their stupid lawns manicured but ask them to spend money on their kids and they do everything they can to avoid dishing out a single penny.

No, H1B visa is for specialized occupation only. You can have a shot using Au Pair visa or something like that.

Unfortunately you cannot come as an H-1B--this job is for specialty occupations only. You really don't have a lot of options open to you with that job for immigration purposes. Your best bet (which is an incredibly long shot) is to apply for permanent residency.

Well the easiest way to go there would be for them to SPONSOR you as a tourist. And then when you are in the states u can sort it out much easier. The key thing is getting the B1 or B2 visa. BUT GET THEM TO SPONSOR you, THATS THE BEST WAY
