My ex said that he didn't love me anymore, YET! He stares at me and text messages me and sends me e-mail. And can't help but smile when i'm in the room...so I'm confused.

That is what we call sending mixed messages...It can trip anyone up.
Most people will enjoy the attention of someone who cares about them, even if they don't love that person. It is hard for him to give up your attention and friendship.
But if someone goes so far as to say "I don't love you," Baby they don't! He really doesn't.
Do what is best for you! Spend you time and attention with people who love you. Don't keep wasting your time on a "has been" It is an easy trap to fall into, I've done it myself. You are keeping someone who could love you out, by filling up your space with someone who doesn't.
You be the one to make the more solid break. Get in really tight with your girlfriends and whenever he texts you text your friend and tell her. Don't get back to him. He'll resist loosing you a bit, but it will be best for you.

first of all you said ex..??? does that tell you something and second if he can tell you that he don't love you to hurt you then no he don't love you i live with a guy of 5 years now and every day i tell him i dont love him and he just says oh yes you do ,,um sorry no i dont..i tell him i need him to pay the bills ..long story but honey if he is an ex maybe dont let him play games with you go find someone that will love you forever..true love is hard to find but you will never know what it is till you both together find it..god bless you and good luck

Maybe he is just playing with you because he knows that he can. Why not make yourself unavailable for a while. switch off that phone, don't invite him over. Maybe then you would get some answers to the confusion.
