Sometimes, there is psychological reason behind binge eating. Try to think and find out is there anything you don't like around and anything that you want to escape from. Otherwise if you have been doing it for a while, then it is because it has become a habit to binge eat. The more you eat, the more you wanna eat!!!

A way to get out of this is to avoid situations where you are likely to binge eat. If you have plenty of free time, try and do something so you don't get bored and eat.
Also as you have said you eat mainly crisps, it is quite normal for people to crave for fatty foods. ( I do it as well and I hate it, coz It is sooo hard to stop). I noticed the other day, when I was having my lunch, I bought a veggie sandwich and just after that I wanted to eat crisp soooo much. I realised it's because I had this habit from my previous job. I used to buy a veggie sandwich and a crisp afterwards.

So now, I changed things around and the habit is fading away. And it is not easy, but It is not impossible. And also joining a gym or dancing classes will help as well. You will just lose your appetite for this kinda food. At least it worked for me and I look slimmer now.

All the best,
Nel

A lot of people binge on food if they are unhappy or depressed.
On the face of it though, it looks as if you are not eating enough at normal meal times so that you feel hungry in between. Crisps for breakfast will not do you any good and will certainly not fill you up. Try porridge (you can get microwaveable if you are short of time) and a slice of brown bread toasted. It also sounds as though you are not eating enough at meal times so that you are hungry an hour or so later. Some of us are born nibblers and it has been suggested that, for those people, 5 small meals a day is better than 3. Mind you, crisps and choc don't constitute a meal! Good luck!

I can understand you concern, you aren't fat yet but you don't want to be. Have you thought about writing a food diary. Without trying to alter your habits write done what you are eating and when. Also write your mood and the way you are feeling, what might have prompted you to eat and how you felt about it afterwards. After a week or two you many be able to analyse what is causing your binge eating. Once you have established the triggers for this eating pattern it will make it easier for you to avoid them or deal with them in another way.

You are using exactly the right approach to this problem. You have recognised that the binge eating is your problem and not any excess weight, that would just be a symptom of your problem. I know it sounds obvious but it's amazing how many people don't spot that even when it's pointed out to them.

There's usually a reason why you are eating more than usual. Are you a bit down or bored? Try doing more things you enjoy so you won't be thinking about food so much. Everytime you feel like eating something extra go for a walk or call a friend or if you have to eat pick some fruit. Hope this helps.

try to have a sensible breakfast that will fill you up, and drink plenty of water. when you feel hungry have a glass of water of OR a diet coke and wait 30 min and see if your still hungry then if you are have a piece of fruit, and maybe if you limit your fatty snacks to a couple a day and set aside a time when you can relax and enjoy your snacks that way you have some thing to look forwards each day with out going over the top, just moderation don't deny your self a snack you will only crave it more.

Try cutting out all carbs for a little while - just eat proteins and veges and low carb fruit to break the vicious cycle, also try drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day because sometimes you feel hungry but actually you're thirsty - try warm water which can make you feel 'fuller'.

Try snacking on cereal bars which have oats, they fill you up and release energy slowly, cutting out the hunger.

Good Luck
