YES! usually in a relationship that does not permit it or has not considered it yet. If a party is not in the same level of passion with the other, it becomes an unpleasant affair which could ruin the friendship. And especially if you guys have been getting on fine on platonic bases, it becomes a bomb.

only if sex becomes the counter point in the friends then you are only using each other.
But other than that i think sex cant ruin a friendship if you dont let it ruin the friendship

Most definitely, because it opens things up to feelings of "what now" that could change the relationship. Sex is something that most don't forget happened, so no matter how earnest two people try to keep things the same afterwards (assuming that's the goal), it may be hard to do that because sex will bring in emotional connections that weren't there previously.

Yes it can! My old friend and I had sex acouple of times. Afterwards, it was realy awkward and nerve-wrecking!!! Unfortunetly, we sopped talking becasue he ****** a stripper on our college spring break
