If you don't like the course you are on could you change to something you would much prefer to do? Discuss with your college tutors, family and friends and decide what you think your options are and pick the best one for you. Difficult situation so I hope you get it sorted.

I am a lecturer at a college and I can tell you you are not alone. A lot of people feel the same way... first of all, why do you hate the course? Is it because you've fallen behind and you feel it's too hard now, or your teachers are giving you grief and you feel bad. Or did you choose it for the wrong reasons in the first place? Basically if you don't like it for the 'wrong' reasons then it probably will happen again on the next course. I always say, stick it out and put in 100% - you'll get 100% back if you do. But, if you genuinely don't like the course then don't waste your time, or your teachers', and begin something you really enjoy in September. Imagine if you had to pay £thousands to do the course - how would you feel about choosing/sticking with it then? Life happens to all of us and when we get knocked down we have to get up again, or lie down and give up completely. Don't feel bad, just make a decision and go with it.
Good luck!

the thing is though that if you change course during this time, you will be starting afresh from the beginning, although you would've missed most of the important stuff and thus, you'd have to play catch up, in terms of the assessments. such as revising for up and coming exams later on and writing essays. otherwise, on your current course try to stick it out, if you could possibly can. if the situation is that bad however and you're really having difficulty in coping, then i'd suggest you drop out immediately and take a few months off by working, for example. then afterwards, go back in september to resume your studies in your new course. remember, its never too late to go back to studying, and so perhaps this break could actually do you a lot of good.

are you gonna pass the classes anyway? If you are you might as well stay in and pass, and get the degree. If you are not close to the degree, well you should probably stick it out anyway, since that is what life is all about, college is just a step to get you into the workforce, and you cant quit just because you dont like your job or feel sick. Well, you can, but you had better have a backup plan cause the world dont care its up to you to make it or not.

Im going through the same thing that you're going though. I was really close to dropping out, but that would just waste more team. Instead, switched out of my all my majored courses and am trying taking multiple intro courses. I am taking accounting, psychology, sociology, and theater. That way, i am not going to drop out and i could experience new careers during this time. Hope this helps!

You certainly can drop out of college I am sure that you can get used to working for coffee shops, fast food chains and all for a minimum wage. Plan on holding down three to four jobs you may then afford to pay the rent and barely get by.

Life's too short- if you are not enjoying it what is the point? Spend some time researching exactly what course would make you happy and would help with career prospects you would be interested in.

Talk to your teachers about it. They will probably know how to help. But college is supposed to be hard! Otherwise anyone could do it! Stick with it cos it's worth it in the end.
