Lets start with something a little smaller to help with this problem. First there are 2 cups to a pint right.... then 2 pints to a quart (like the old glass bottles that milk used to come in long ago) and then 4 quarts to a gallon. Since there are 4 quarts to a gallon and each quart has two pints that makes 8 pints to a gallon. You have 8 gallons you want to figure so multiply your 8 pints per gallon times your 8 gallons and that gives you a grand total of 64 pints in 8 gallons. Now another fun question added to yours. If you take a pint of salt and mix in with 8 gallons of water, will it give you 65 pints of water? smile
