The problem with that is if I don't embrace Islam someone might strap on a bomb and blow up my house. Or I might be killed by a mob of Muslims because being a Christian is offensive to God according to more than a few Clerics in your religion.

if you understand why islam recited these things, u wont be surprised, u will know that it's the right way...everything that god has commanded us to do has its reasons, and it's a logic reason if u use ur mind n think well about it...not just saying words in the air...
islam didnt say to change wives, it says that a man can have the right to marry till 4 wives under some conditions, like if he married his 1st one n he found her sterile, so islam gives him the right to marry from another one so he could have chirldren...and these r rare cases, it'doesnt happen all the time...
covering women in burqas it's not in islam, islam says only to be veiled to protect them from the look of men who have bad intentions but covering the face it's not right...

Yes Islam gives a very privileged position to woman.
If you want to know that you have to compare between woman before Islam and woman after Islam
before Islam girls die for no reason
woman have no right in the inherits and the worst woman themselves were inherited.
woman were consider to be dirty when they have period and they leave in separate tenets.
man hurts his wife by calling her you are like my mother so he will not going to have sex with her nor divorce her

after Islam
woman must be educated
woman have the same right like the men
woman wear hijab to protect her self
woman could choose her husband
men must buy dowry to the girls he want to marry
woman can return his dowry back if she did want to be with him anymore
woman could choose her husband
Mother consider to be as a holy
Man must spend his money to his wife even if she get divorced
the messenger of God ( pbuh) had never beat his wives
