I've just been put on that also. Before that I was on another statin drug. I changed insurance and they only cover this one.
I've been on it for about a month and there has been no swelling.

For the new year I'm going to try to get my cholesterol down with the Fiber 35 plan. I saw it on pbs the other night. High fiber lowers cholesterol and also helps one lose weight, which I also need.

I like to eat All Bran. It's very high fiber. I don't put milk in it. I put a tablespoon or two of natural peanut butter in it and squish it all together. It tastes like a good peanut buttter granola bar.
Good luck to you.

Hi, I would suggest you stop taking your tablets right away and report back to your Doctor. Missing a couple won't hurt you and you may have to try a couple of different ones before you settle with a suitable tablet.
I too have tried several statins and find that Prevastatin 20mg is most suitable now.
My Cholestrol has come right down now and I put that down to change of eating habits and of course the Prevastatins.
The first thing I stopped having was any type of butter or spreads, you can eat bread or toast without this easily. Just make a nice healthy filling or topping for the bread and you won't notice the butter gone!
I don't use sugar and have cut down on salt during cooking. Never add it to my food at the table or when dining out.
I also have given up all kinds of pastry items and I now have got into a routine of having lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. And I have not had good old English 'Fish and Chips' for 2/3 years!
The Cholestrol level has stayed down for last couple of blood tests, so I seem to have got on top of it and feel much better for it.
The only side effect I can think of, is at night, when in bed, my legs get fidgity or restless, and I think this may the the statins working, as they have to be taken at night, but I can live with that I think.
Good luck with your tablets, and I would get yours changed as soon as possible. Stop taking them and see your Doctor again.

Yes it is one of the side effects. You need to call your doctor and inform him immediately that you are having this reaction, he may want to take you off th drug and give you another one instead.
The link below gives good info on the drug;
