the navy, i could said the air force too, but they need to rest in airports, and there is where they are attacked, the navy is in the sea all time and the rebels in Iraq don't have ships to attack them, and even with rockets it's truly hard to hit a small target like a ship, and well, the army.... just read Yahoo! world news

First off, you need to remember that the military is a brother/sisterhood. To say that one branch is better than the other is just a loyalty game. As far as what branch is best to join "right now" with the political situation that the world is in, you need to recognize what YOU want to get out of the military experience. If you feel like you want to be a part of the war in Iraq, you would best suited in an infantry in the Army or Marines. If you like being out in the water, the Navy or Coast Guard. The Air Force has a reputation of taking care of their people a little better than the other branches, but you need to research for yourself. Find the pros and cons to each branch from an unbiased source. The National Guard or Reserves is also a good option if you want to stay close to home or If you're interested in going to school, getting an education AND serving your country, the Guard might be right for you. However you also need to keep in mind that a large majority of the soldiers going overseas are in fact Guard. Serving your country in the Military can be a rewarding experience that you will always remember and that can shape your life. Joining is not a choice to take lightly, but do your research and follow YOUR heart, keep your options open, and you will find out what branch is right for YOU right now.

I would say the airforce. Active duty. They take the best care of their soldiers. The active military is best they are deployed for six to a year at each deployment. If you joined the airforce reserves, you could be deployed for a year to two years. The reservist that got activated were very bemused at our controling 1SGT, they were all getting out once their tour of duty was over. Any yar tour in the active or reserves gets you two weeks leave to go home and be with your family. I would talk to an airforce guy though the recruiters will tell you what they need to to get you in the airforce. The reserves might be best if you can stand playing soldier for a few months and then be relocated every so often to a unit someplace in th eunited states, which they will also have you do a tour in Iraq.

IT all depends on what you want to be when you grow up. What are you looking for out of your military career ?? Is there a Military Career for you?? or are you looking to serve a tour or two and get out ?? Are you looking to go to combat ?? or do you want to get career experience / education without getting shot at/ attempted to be blown up ??
Career / education wise : I would say go Air Force. They have their own accredited College.
Combat : Go either Army or Marines.
And If you like fishes and Jaws then join the Navy !! Seriously the Navy has good educational opportunities also. The Army and the Marines have educational opportunities also but will really eat into your personal time. Any educational opportunities will eat up your personal time but right now the Army and the Marines have a higher op tempo.
Decide what you want from the Military and what you want to do with your life and decide.

Silly question. There is no BEST branch. They all have their good points and bad points. That decision is up to you. You need to research. Find what you are interested in, what you want to do with your future and see which branch would be close to that. All you are going to get by asking others which branch is best or which one you should join is people saying Army because they were in the army, Air Force because they were in the Air Force, Navy because they were in the Navy...you are just gonna get a loyalty answer is all. They are just gonna push you towards what branch they were in.
Do the research for yourself. Dont join one branch just because your dad was in that branch or your cousin was in it. Join what YOU want.

Its depends on what you like to do or are fit to do. Do you like to camp in the forest? Join the infantery (army or marine). Do you like to jump out of an airplane? Join the airborne. Do you like to fly an aircraft? Join the airforce/navy as an officer and so on.
The first question you should ask yourself is if youre fit and qualified to be an officer (officers get the most interresting jobs and do all the deciding). Then choice the branch that you like most (Army, navy, marine or airforce). Johan
