There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

not all religions accept the idea of reincarnation...and also sins are cleansed only after judgement but not before that. The nature of the place where the spirit rests after death depends on how good or bad this person was in his earth life...and this place is for temporary residence until all deads are called for Resurrection to face the judgement of God all together at the same time...then heaven (or hell) is the place for permanent residence after all.

Reincarnation isn't like a second chance, it's like a new beginning. You have pretty much no recollection of the past one.

God, judgement, and heaven are the most insane explanations for the afterlife I have ever heard. I'd explain why, but we could be here all day.

Why are you even waiting for the next life? What if there is no afterlife? You would have wasted your only life preparing for a non-existent afterlife. CARPEDIEM!!!

The condition of the dead is made clear at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, where we read: “The dead know nothing . . . There is no pursuit, no plan, no knowledge or intelligence, within the grave.” (Moffatt) Death, therefore, is a state of nonexistence. The psalmist wrote that when a person dies, “he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish.” (Psalm 146:4) The dead are unconscious, inactive.
What, then, does it mean when Ecclesiastes 12:7 states that when a person dies, “the spirit itself returns to the true God who gave it”? Does this mean that the spirit literally travels through space into God’s presence? Nothing of the sort is implied. Since the spirit is the life-force, it “returns to the true God” in the sense that any hope of future life for that person now rests entirely with God. Only God can restore the spirit, or life-force, causing a person to come back to life. (Psalm 104:30)

We choose the life that we live on this world. We made a pact an infinity ago of what will happen to us. Some just wish to experience the birth of life. They are born and then they die. Others wish to experience other stages and emotions. From when we are born we forget what we wanted to experience such as grieving.

When we die we pass over to the spirit plane. Not all spirits go to the same realm. Some need recuperation due to traumatic death, suicide, murder. They join their family and friends at a later time. When you pass on to spirit you are shown how your life should of been and how it turned out. You are not judged but you judge yourself. Time is irrelevant as the spirit plane does not have a 24 hour clock. People that have lived a wayward life such as murderers will judge themselves but they will eventually pass on to the highest plane. Remember that time does not matter so it's not done in years. Spirit chooses to have their former form or not. Many new people that pass over to spirit choose to have their image. Once adapted they choose to not be of a worldly human image. In the spirit plane you learn all the answers to the questions you have asked and after time you are given the opportunity to be reborn. You choose if you wish to try to live the life that you have chosen. Remember that you forget from the time you are born. You can be reborn as many times as you wish until you achieve it.

1. "Know thou of a truth that the soul, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress until it attaineth the presence of God, in a state and condition which neither the revolution of ages and centuries, nor the changes and chances of this world, can alter. It will endure as long as the Kingdom of God, His sovereignty, His dominion and power will endure. It will manifest the signs of God and His attributes, and will reveal His loving kindness and bounty."

2. "As to the question whether the souls will recognize each other in the spiritual world: this fact is certain; for the Kingdom is the world of vision where all the concealed realities will become disclosed. How much more the well-known souls will become manifest. The mysteries of which man is heedless in this earthly world, those he will discover in the heavenly world, and there will he be informed of the secret of truth; how much more will he recognize or discover persons with whom he hath been associated. Undoubtedly, the holy souls who find a pure eye and are favored with insight will, in the kingdom of lights, be acquainted with all mysteries, and will seek the bounty of witnessing the reality of every great soul. Even they will manifestly behold the Beauty of God in that world."

3. "... a love that one may have entertained for any one will not be forgotten in the world of the Kingdom. Likewise, thou wilt not forget (there) the life that thou hast had in the material world."

When the living entity (spirit soul) gives up his present body, he goes for judgment. At this point he is awarded with another body suitable to his desires or stays in a ghostly state for certain amount of time. Eventually he will acquire another body which according to his karma (past activities) he'll be given a better or worse body. Someone with a human body acting like a dog will be awarded with a dog's body in his next lifetime.

Your consciousness is the internal representation of the processes taking place in your brain and nervous system. When those processes stop you cease to experience anything. So while it may be rational to fear dying, particularly in a traumatic or painful way, there's no reason to fear death.

After you die you will simply not exist, much as you did not exist before your brain developed before you were born.

After this life we are probably outside of time. So 'wait' and 'immediate' have no meaning there.

We die and rot in the ground. Not a nice prospect, but better to accept that reality than spend your life sucking up to an imaginary psychotic in the sky!
