My boyfriend and I have been dating for two years, we are college juniors and he lives 4 hours away from me during breaks. We have a ton of fun together, we go out and do things, we goof around, we can laugh at anything together, and we just fit. Lately though, he has been so moody. Maybe for two weeks he will be acting like my boyfriend, and then I will have a week with no "I love you" or he will forget to call me one day and be like, oh I was with my friends and forgot. He will get all mean sometimes, then the next week he will say "Ohh I miss you I love you" The first summer we were apart he was fine calling me everyday and saying I love you, and then the past two or three breaks hes so damn moody! Im on edge!!! I dont know when to be mushy and cute, or when to just try and leave him alone, which is hard to do bc I really do love him! All Im asking for is one little phone call a day, or at least a few text messages!!!

Well, I always give him the opportunity to call me, because he knows where Ill be. Either at work, at home, or doing something else. He does get upset when he calls and I cant talk. And Im 100% positive that he's not cheating on me, because, well, you just have to know him. I just get annoyed bc hes so on and off.

Girl. We both have a little in common. I am also in college and have been away for the holidays for a month now. My boyfriend has been VERY BUSY lately and seemed kind of distant. I even found myself crying because I thought he was actually going to break up with me. We've been together for almost a year now. It came to the point where I told him how I felt... about him being distant and how I thought he wanted to end it with me and stuff. Well he said that wasn't the case, but I'm glad I let my feelings out. 2 days after that, I didn't hear a word from him and I was heart broken and confused. Then he called me. Our conversation was actually a good one this time! And then 2 days later, he called and the conversation lasted almost an hour and it was nice! We hadn't had a long conversation in a while.
So I thought my experience helped you atleast a little bit. Just let him know exactly how you feel. If he really loves you, he will consider your feelings and do something about it.
If he forgets to call me one day, I let it go. I don't bring it up because I don't want to sound needy. Yeah, it's nice to hear from him everyday... but we both have our own lives, you know? Just trust him. When it comes to a relationship, you don't doubt first... you trust first. I have found that realistically I can't keep expecting him to call every single day of my life. Things happen... things come up. Don't expect so much. I have found my limit though. If I don't hear from him for 3 DAYS... THEN I'll get pissed. LOL. But that hasn't happened yet.
If I were you, I wouldn't call him. That's what I did. Yes, it may get hard because you really love him and you really want to hear his voice... but be TOUGH. See how much he loves YOU and see what HE does. Give him his space... give him the opportunity to call you.
EDIT:
Well things can't stay constant. Everything is different in the beginning of relationships. I think we're both past the honeymoon stage. We can't be all lovey dovey ALL the time.
But just tell him everything you told US. Communication is key. You can't hide your feeling forever now.

Well.. my opinion is one of two things... either 1 he is totally stressed out with school and has so
much going on his nerves are frazzled and he just needs some air and space from everything and everyone or 2 he's seeing someone else and making up lies simple as that... you know him better than anyone though so you should decide for yourself and as the old saying goes: Follow Your Heart!
Just make sure you take the time to express to him how you feel and reassure him how much you care about your relationship. Communication is the best key to any relationship and the one thing most lack.

You can't keep the mushy puppy love forever, but you keep acting how you want, I like my woman to be lovy dovy all the time becaause I have a hard time being like that even if I want to, so its good for a chick to always stay sweet. That way I know she still cares. Your man is just busy and isn't thinking straight at times. But 4 hours away can be hard, cut your calls down to maybe every two days.

You should not take it so badly, at least some of the things you were mentioning. For instance, I would never forget the "I Love You" it is just a little couple words that make a person smile, and makes the day better but maybe he is just having a bad day for the other things

talk about it with him. Tell him how you are feeling and give him an opportunity to clarify if he is just that" busy with friends" or if he is doing other things like having another relationship on the side. Give him an opportunity to clarify if this relationship is what he really wants and if it is then you tell him what you need from him which is everything you asked for in the last line of your question.

I was also really confused while going through letter but now I am clear. Nothing is there. Some people always behave in the same way but some others cannot. Because that is their nature.
All the best. enjoy

I think he owes you an explanation about why he's acting this way. People don't suddenly change their behavior unless something is going on. It may not be a big deal, but honesty in communication is so important in a relationship. When people stop communicating, they begin to pull apart.

Maybe he just gets annoyed when you demand "I love you" every second. Chill, love him like you've always done and if he's moody then continue loving him like you've always done but give him time to chill and have some 'him time' so that he can relax. He loves you but he needs to be by himself sometimes. Space is very important, don't smother him.
