yes it is possible but what you ay wanna ask is it worth it? how old is the pc.etc.. and check your computer spscs etc.. and is it capable of handling 1 gig of memry? if so may depend how many slots you have only one you would have to remove theone card of 256 and stick in a 1 gig stick simple.. if two or more slots add higher memory to the avaible slots...
good luck hope finf someone sooon..

This is usually an easy upgrade if your laptop can handle 1GB of RAM. You can look at the manufacturer's website to see the MAX amount. On Dell and Gateway, you can enter your serial number to bring up information about your specific laptop. I don't know about other manufacturers. Good luck!

Normally this is a user upgradable part.
Should be fairly easy.

Please provide the exact model of your laptop for a more accurate answer....some older models will not detect 1GB of RAM.

It depends on the model.
Some have easy access to the RAM slots.
Some require a lot of work to get RAM in.

Paying an expert to do it for you is money well spent if you have any doubts at all.

how come people don,t go to there customer support site to find these things out, instead of people that stand to loose nothing for bad advice, i think ibm support would have the best info on this!
