My Maiden name is Cronje and I stay in south africa I would just like to find out where this family name originated from if anybody can help it will be great

The first three sites are leads where you can communicate with someone either Cronje, or interested in Cronje.
There are 124 entries in the Family Search web site. You have to enter Cronje for last name, and select exact spelling.

I'm based in the uk and currently tracing my ancestry. Have you tried asking your relatives, ie. granparents.
If not its possibly of dutch/flemish origin but that is a guess.
