I WAS WONDERING HOW MANY EGGS A DAY I COULD HAVE ON THE ATKINS DIET- I WANT TO LOSE 10-20 POUNDS.
I'M 5'5 TALL AND 130 POUNDS- IF ANY OF U PEOPLE DID THE ATKINS DIET AND IT WORKED POST BACK AND TELL ME ABOUT IF IT WORKS OR NOT- THANKS :):):):)

Sure, it works for the short term. But I've never known anyone to really stick with it past two weeks. But you will lose weight pretty quickly. Good for a particular event. Expect to gain it back thought because you'll have been carb deprived and will want to make up for all you missed. If I remember correctly, you can eat all the eggs you want in the first two weeks.

Eggs are not limited. They are protien and the carb count is extremely low in them. The only reason the book suggests easing up on the eggs is if you're dealing with a medical condtion I believe.

Before you do the diet though, read the book. It will tell you everything you need to know. And remember, you're not going "no carb" your carbs come from veggies in the first 2 weeks which is Induction, then you slowly add more carbs to the diet which include low glycemic fruits such as berries.

And Dr. Atkins says that if you start to regain weight, just restart back on Induction to loose it back. It's all about learning better eating habits. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle for your entire life. A more nutritional way of eating.

And yes, most people will loose weight well. My Dr. uses this diet for her cardiac patients who need to loose weight before they can have surgery.

This forum is a great place to go. The people are very helpful and glad to answer questions. They also have a "boot camp" online that helps people go through induction. It's great support and helps in learning what you need to be successful. I'm not sure when the next bootcamp is, but you can ask. It's free to use.

Okay I've performed each so ...
