The maximun amount of RAM for a laptop depends on the make and model. I am currently running 4 gig in one of my laptops. So check the manufacturer's web site for your make and model. It will tell you if you can increase the memory to 1 gig or more.

There are already many laptops on the market capable of running Windows Vista. All future laptops (and desktops) should be able to running Vista. Its "minimum requirements" will be the "low end" PCs on the future. Unlikely anyone would continue to manufacturer a PC that would be unable to run Vista.
