I would like to learn Greek because I want to visit Greece next year and be able to communicate with the locals. Plus I already know French and Spanish. I love learning new languages.

I'll answer your questions in reverse order.

Yes, I find it very interesting to learn about foreign cultures, languages and people. I've devoted large amounts of my free time to this exploration. I speak my native English, as well as Esperanto, Spanish and German. I've also studied Polish and Mandarin. Esperanto was far easier to learn than any of the others, and it opened the world to me. I've had conversations with people from every continent, and every country, and I only had to learn the easiest language on earth to do so.

As for the language I would like to learn, and why. I want to go back to learning Mandarin and become conversational in it. Because I would like to tour China some day.

I've studied Italian, Japanese, and American Sign Language. If I had time, I'd like to become fluent in each of these.

I've also always wanted to learn Portuguese because it has both the cadence and vowel sounds of a romance language like Spanish or Italian, but also has unique soft fricatives that give it a hint of French or perhaps Russian flavor.

Swiss-German, because it ISN'T foreign here.
Other than that, I actually prefer to learn ABOUT languages (how they're structured, what other languages they're related to) than really get around to communicating with people. If I knew perfectly all the languages do in fact need, I think I'd go for Hungarian or Estonian (very different plus I do know people who speak them).

PS @ JimmyG: Brazilians speak Portuguese not Spanish.

Spanish cos I've loved watching Mexican telenovelas and listened to Spanish songs since young. So I guess I've always wanted to take up Spanish.
