In India the average cost for a root canal could be about Rs 5000. The cost is split as such Rs 2000 for the procedure and Rs 3000 for a Ceramic Crown(cap). The cost could go down if you get a metal crown.

I had one 2 years ago. It cost between 600 and 800 dollars. I don't know where the one guy got his 5000 dollar figure.
