They have a few other things going on right now. I wouldn't get too excited in thinking that they are going to grant amnesty. They know that amensty is NOT what the American people want. If you have noticed...they have been stepping up a few things regarding employment of illegals...hopefully they are going to do the right thing and enforce our laws...you know the ones that we already have.

Congress is scared to try and pass anything the AMERICAN PEOPLE "Don't want" right now. They're hoping we'll be asleep at the wheel, when they try. Americans just need the laws we have on the book enforced. Period. If they do pass this bill, experts predict the United States Of America will collapse in five years from the overwhelming burden on all our systems. When that happens, the illegals will be running back home for "a better life" and some Americans will probably head that way too as this place won't be worth living in at that point. It's interesting that it coincides with the expected war with China in 2012 over the invasion of Taiwan.

In progress.
At the moment, Congress is concentrating on passing a bill concerning implementing all the recommendations of the 9/11 commission, and I think it just passed the house.
The Senate (actually just Kennedy) is working on prohibiting the sending of troops to Iraq without Congressional approval.

anything that worked on last year is dead now becuase of electios. there are several senators working on a new bill that they will introduce within the next three months and expect a decision to made about it by june or july of this year. they are not proposing citizenship for those of ou who think they are. they are proposing a guest worker program and for those who have spouses that have to file the I-601 waiver and be separated from their families, they are proposing that they be allowed to adjust status in country and pay a fine in lieu of the i-601 waiver and hardship letter. THIS IS NOT AUTOMATIC CITIZENSHIP PEOPLE. It is a temporary resident card for some and a legal permanent resident card for spouses.

It is on the backburner right now. They probably won't address it for a little while. The war in Iraq and raising the minimum wage are the top issues for our new representatives.

There has to be some type of legal action soon. I believe either amnesty or a guest worker program will be set up.
