How many people without tattoos, and who are against them, have a piercing, even if it's something as simple as an ear piercing?
The reason that i ask is because, i myself, have two tattoos, which you wouldn't even know just by looking at me, because they are hidden underneath clothing on a daily basis, and the only person who knows that they are there is my fiance.
A lot of people say that tattoos make a woman look trasy, but half of the time, that "conservative boss" that you think won't hire people with tattoos, has one smack dab on her ***.
Another point that people tend to make about tattoos is that it goes against what the bible says.
While at the same time, the woman who preaches about going to hell because you've got a tattoo, is the same woman who just got her 2 month old daughter's ears pierced because "it just looks so cute!"
But piercing, as i am aware, also goes against what the bible says.
Even though society has accepted ear piercings.......

Even though society has accepted ear piercings, that does not make it an exception, it is still a piercing, no matter which way you look at it.
So those people are too, going against what the bible syas as well.
So what makes someone without a tattoo, but with a single piercing in their ears, any different than those with tattoos?
They both are wrong so that doesn't make them any better!
Does anyone without a rude comment agree?

People just love to live in the Old Testament and preach out of the Old Testament. It seems that everybody forgets that Jesus was sent for our sins because god knows we are ALL not perfect and can’t live by his law.
The next time someone comes up to you and write you a wrong because you have a tattoo let them know they are just as wrong and will as well go to H double L for the fact they have their ear pierce and if or not they certainly are wearing garments of two kinds of material which is marked as a sin in the Old Testament. You can read all this under Leviticus 19.
100% of the people of today wear a garment that has two types of material woven into it and you sure can bet Miss Little Bible Thumper is wearing a cotton/polyester blouse or dress.
Christ has come and fulfilled the old laws. Everybody is a sinner. All that god ask for is for your salvation.

It depends on what your religion is. If you are Jewish and follow the Old Testament, than yes, both piercings and tattoos are against the bible because it says that your body is a temple of God and defacing it in any way is against the bible.
If you are Christian (Catholic or Protestant) than not so much. Jesus said that while your body is a temple, it depends more what comes out of you then what you put in (or on) it. What he was talking about was the strict Kosher laws of the Old Testament about what food you could eat. But it also applies to tattoos and piercings. Your actions and words define who you are, not how you look on the outside.
Lots of Christians (and probably some Jews) have many tattoos and piercings, including me. Have you ever seen some of the Christain hardcore/metal bands? They are covered in tattoos and piercings, yet praise God through their music.
The only reason I could see for not getting the tattoo you are thinking of is if it is in some way satanistic or promotes a religion that goes against Christianity. Getting the Antichrist symbol or a picture of Buddha would be some exapmles.
Sorry that this is so long and I got a little preachy, I hope it helps! :)

I have a tattoo and I know that I'm not trashy.
I have a lot of piercings but I know that God still loves me.
I am a strong Catholic and I think that you should come as you are.
Tattoos and piercings have been around since ancient history. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
But I also do hate it when someone says they despise piercings/tattoos and then gets on or has one. That is fake.

i am kind of in the same boat as you are describing, i have my ears and belly button pierced but i would never get a tattoo. i am not at all religious, the reasons are just personal. i think a piercing is a tiny hole that is easily hidden and all you have to do if you decide you no longer want it is stop wearing jewelry. a tattoo is much more permanant and requires a lot more work to get rid of.

I have four tatoo's and I think that they are awesome! I am a good christian woman and believe with my whole heart in God! The woman that is preaching about tatoo's or piercings--apparently needs to read the bible a little more closely, because the simple fact of the matter is that God forgives--and tatoo's are among the least of his worries--especially with the problems in society today--remind those people that are holier than art thou with the attitudes "he who is with out sin shall cast the first stone" I guarantee no one will be throwing rocks!!! There is no difference, and it is what makes us feel good about us that is the important thing! By the way I am an accountant--with four tatoo's that mean very special things to me!! Live life and be happy!!!

If they think our body is such a temple that shouldn't be altered or destroyed, then they should stop doing their nails, dyeing their hair, wearing make-up, and getting their ears pierced. They should also be careful up there on their pedestals because one day they could fall off and have to walk around down here with the rest of us. And when that happens they might catch a glimpse of themselves in a mirror and not like what they see.

You know..the bible is really old and I dont really think god would give a damn about whether someone has a tattoo or a piercing.
Thats something really unimportant compared to what else happens on this world.
And no Im not christian, Im from europe..the bible is just an old book to many here and not read that strictly.

yeah, most deff. because I'm not allowed to get a tattoo....My mom won't let me[well when i turn 16]]she said she will absolutely NOT sign and my dad isn't allowed, so she says. she says it's wrong in the eyes of god. but she is allowing me to go get my ears pierced another time in a few days. I think it's dumb.because if i want to i should be able to get what i want done to my body!!!!grrr.i mean just because she thinks it's wrong[[and she has one herself!!]]and she regrets it because of the bible and thinking it's trashy...but yet she has her ears pierced 3 times. oooooooo she kills me!

I love tattoos. But I can't get one because of a childhood heart condition.
I love tattoos that are original and artistic. I don't like tattoos on ordinary people that are also on celebrities. I also don't like people who get names of girl/boyfriends, but instead get the same beautiful and orginal tattoo.
