I havnt but I have cared for people who have and from what they have said I know that often the voices had distrinct personalities. Yes particular voices would be on a particular side. With some patients you knew when they were hearing the voices as they would turn their head slightly with each voice. Patiens have also often talked of the voices by an accent related name so yes they do hear accents in the voices;

When one is labeled schizophrenic, they will usually hear voices in their right ear. I don't know why that is. Also, they hear it when there is white noise either from an air conditioning duct or fan. I was close to dying once when I was very sick with a high fever and there was a very dominant voice. White noise drives me crazy but I am addicted to fans. I am always hot because of early menopause so I play with what I think I am hearing. I purposely think up the words I want to hear and the words change with my thoughts. Sounds strange doesn't it? It works for me. The first very dominant, agressive voice told me he was the angel of death. He was always yelling at me. Enough to send me to the hospital twice. I don't know if I answered your question but I do speak from personal experience. I pray everyday and let the spirit know I am a child of God and that that spirit is not welcome here. It worked.
Now, here's another side of hearing voices that a lot of people refuse to believe. Some people who hear many different voices could actually be psychic and are hearing those souls who have gone home. They are on a different plain than we are but seeing as we only use 10 percent of our brains, it makes sense to me that we all have psychic abilities if we can unlearn being afraid of it and open our minds to it. I am very open minded to it and all kinds of voices talk to me. Sometimes it is clear as a bell. Sometimes it is not. I hope I answered your question.

The first thing Im wondering is, have you consulted a doctor about this. For some reason there's a social stigma attached to 'hearing voices' and people are ashamed. I started hearing 'whispering' noises just before I was doing my exams. It was very frightening, I was in bed and I heard what sounded like 'ltes care her'. It became more and more frequent which increasingly made me feel more and more isolated. I'd be in the library and hear whispering and look around to find people sitting quietly. I felt 'distracted' and depressed.My mother tried to brush it off which infact is very unhelpful, I needed medical attention. Luckily my brother took me to the doctor. What I'm suffering from is a 'halucination' and I was hearing horrible insulting things about myself. I didn't particularly find counselling helpful but medication does help. The doctor put me on antidepressants because I suffer from severe depression - again I refused to admit I was depressed because people don't like talking about their mental states but it's nothing to be ashamed about - we are who we are. My advice is to consult a doctor or confide in somebody you trust - getting advice on the internet isnt sufficient because people may not be qualified to give you the proper information you need.

I currently hear two voices. One's a male who is very aggressive, he tells me to harm or even kill myself. He tells me I'm stupid and a complete waste of space, things like that. The other voice is a female who doesn't talk to me directly but talks to the male voice about me. She generally snipes about what I'm wearing, things I've done during the day. It's kind of like when someone (real) is talking to someone else about you, talking quietly so as not to say out loud, but, loud enough for you to "overhear". The male voice is definitely more aggressive and dominant.

yeah they have different characters, so not just accents -different views, opinions and moral standings, and so yes some are more aggressive or passive.
The voices change though -it's not always the same characters and not always in the same area of my head.
It's completely normal.. Isn't it? Guys?

Hello,
(ANS) Every human being has voices in their heads, its normal but this isnt something that gets talked about or acknowledged in our society because there is still so much fear surrounding mental health issues.
So what is it? the voices we hear in our heads are our ego (our ego is ourselve, its the essense of who we are), different aspects of ourselves talk to us at different times and in diferent ways.
