4 - 6 months I would think, maybe longer if you're not going to be strict with the diet;

OK, 1lb of fat is 3,500 calories that you have to use up. So if you are on a diet and you exercise, and you work out that you are using up 500 more calories of energy than you are taking in of food, that is 1/7 of a lb - which works out that, with gentle exercise and a diet, you should lose 1lb a week. Normally, in the first week, you lose about 2lb because you are also losing excess water. 1lb a week doesn't sound much but it is a good target, because you are not really depriving yourself of foods that you like. Most dieters go for really difficult and strict diets that they cannot sustain for long before they go mad. So, 1lb-2lb a week, which is around half a stone a month. That's enough for your waistband to be looser and for your cheekbones to start showing through. Keep going, and it won't be too difficult, and then a few weeks later it's a stone. Well done.
Try a sensible diet and gentle exercise, and keep to it through life.

some human beings lose it directly and others do no longer. I weighed 11 stone till now I fell pregnant - particularly narrow as i'm tall. I gained around 4 stone and nonetheless 3 stone heavier than i used to be till now I had my toddler boy. he's now 6 months and that i've got lost hardly any weight. while some persons are very narrow directly after having a sprint one. purely think of to your self it took 9 months to income it, so 9 months or greater to lose it.

I was on the Body For Life diet soon after I had my second baby and I lost 20 pounds in my first three months on the diet. It's reasonable and anyone can follow it. Just go to www.bodyforlife.com and find out more. There's even a book on it which I highly recommend.

it depends on your diet and your exercise, as well as your age and metabolism. everyone is different and loses at different rates. but losing slowly is much healthier. I've just made it to my goal with Weight Watchers...and it took me 2 yrs, 10 months. and if you're very overweight and lose very quickly, aside from some of the health problems it may cause, you'll also have that loose hanging skin as well. don't try any of those "fad" diets. cut down your fat and cut down your portions and get some exercise.

any weight that you lose almost instantly will pile on just as quick, as its probably just water. A sensible diet is the only way to lose weight and maintaining it will keep it off, cardio vascular excersize will help this imensly, tho dont be suprised if you gain weight and lose size when you excersize as muscle is 3 times heavier than fat.....but looks better

Set your goals for 4-6 months and dont be too strict as you will burn out too quick!

Good luck

If you aim at losing between 1 to 2lbs per week your weight should start coming off. Go for realistic losses and not look to lose to much in a month, because you will be disillusioned.
