ido really believe in that elder should be respected most probably because they are more experienced than us and wiser . also they should be respected and offered help from us -the younger-without even asking for our help.
as it is time for them to have rest.

Because most of them are more experienced then us!
but i believe that some elderly are really disrespectful! and i believe that respect is something earned not given by age! sometimes we meet little kids that force us to respect them with their thoughts and mind! and opposite can be for elders!

They've already lived the same melodramatic life that we're going through right now... just because they talk slow doesn't mean they've experienced less.
Personally I have a very low tolerence for the elderly, which I admit makes me sound really shallow, but I also dislike being around children. But nonetheless, I respect them both, just because... because.

I think that when I get older i would like to be respected for having lived on this earth, and put up with enough ****, to have to do it the rest of my life. They should be respected for having not died yet, having the wisdom of age and patience in life. what an odd question.

Because you need to remember the saying:
'age and treachery triumphs over youth and enthusiasm every time'.
Or alternatively, you should respect everyone until they prove themselves unworthy of respect. Old or young makes no odds... there are s**ts of every age and saints of every age.

Because they have lived through experiences that you can't understand them.
But then again, respect is something that is earned and you get it by how you act. Respect is not something you can demand of someone.

Because they have seen the way life plays out inspite of what seems to be obvious rationale to the contrary at times.

You should only respect them if they have done something to earn it - just hanging around and managing to stay alive isn't enought to earn your respect.
It's sad that so many of them are dull judgmental lifeless examples of what NOT to do in life!

Because they are supposed to have more life experiance...but I say judge this by a case by case scenario.
They're plenty of old coots who I don't think merit more respect because they've managed to not die, lol.
