The one of the main ingredients, THC, in marijuana is highly addictive. If you tried to smoke pot, the THC acts like the addiction of nicotine in your system. Once you start, your addicted and quitting is not easy.
The only way I would smoke marijuana is if I was in chronic pain but I'm not sure I'd like the feeling of euphoria, only the relief from my pain.

Yes, you can smoke marijuana without getting addicted. I know many people that have and I smoke regularly myself. I do think you can become addicted, but one joint shouldn't send you spiraling to rehab or anything.
I do believe that there are some addictive qualities to the drug, but like anything that acts as a stimulant like coffee, cigarettes, etc....If you smoke a joint on occassion, you should be fine...probably pretty good in fact. ;)..
You're more likely to become addicted to alcohol, tobacco, or chapstick!
Don't worry, if you do become hooked, you won't be angry about it...;)

yup, when you don't smoke it often you won't really get addicted and have only a small chance to get troubled by the bad side effects. the only problem with this "system" is that you are (probably) gonna smoke it more often. and before you know it you smoke it every day. (which is VERY bad for your mental & fysicle health)

Cannabis has been proven to be chemically non-addictive. This means it isn't addictive like heroin or nicotine. However, ANYTHING that gives you pleasure can be addictive (for instance shopping, gambling, sex) without being chemically addictive. So the only way to not get addicted to ANYTHING you enjoy is to stop doing it. Seems like a pretty crappy way to live your life if you ask me.... I say take a risk every now and then, and get some enjoyment out of life!

There is no telling. Some personalities are prone to addictions. Some peoples' chemical balance makes them susceptible to addictions from specific substenances, some are susceptible to all. Some people are just psychologically prone to addictions.

I believe that it can be possible but it would have to be used sparingly. If you smoked everyday, the substance is in your system and withdrawal symptoms tend to happen. These symptoms subside if you smoke again. Anyway, good luck and if you can avoid puffing everyday, do so. From someone who has smoked everyday for the past ten years.

Pot isn't physically addictive, it's mentally addictive.
You get hooked on the high, the feeling of being calm.

Next year my son will get out of rehab. I'll have him get back with you. Wasted 5 years of a bright person's life. Stop now, and get help for why you use it.
