A problem has caused windows defender to stop. H ave tried to access defender but cant get in. Have tried windows help and support which just says go into defender to start manually but I cant get in. Any suggestions? I am a bit of a computer novice so be gentle with me.

No Worries -
Microsoft have updated a newer verison of Windows Defender on their website:

http://www.microsoft.com

Uninstall your version of Windows Defender:

↓ Control panel
↓ Add/Remove programes
↓ Remove Windows Defender

Then redownload the latest version of the application.
This should resolve the problem. If not then I suugest you check for updates via....

Windows Defender ---> Help options ---> check for updates

There should not be a problem as I am currently happily using Windows Defender.

Sorry, no help, but I'm having exactly the same problem. I think it started just after windows automatically installed updates.

The latest version (as on 10/01/2007) is 1.1.1592.0 .

take a seem on your device for a report named logo1_.exe. The trojan that it incorporates is designed to shutdown safe practices appropriate purposes. after I had it on my device right here, i become getting an identical type of mistakes on startup, because of it killing off McAfee.

mine too. keeps coming up at beginning of start-up.

i want to delete it and start again.
