So basically, how do [most] girls react when an old friend starts taking an interest in them [to the point where the girl knows he like s her]. Do most girls like the attention, are some kind of insecure with it, etc. or what?

We're both in 10th grade, and we've been ok friends since 7th grade.

I don't think there is "most girls" answer to your question. I'll tell you why. Only the two of you know what kind of friendship you have, what you do together when you're being friends, and what you talk about. You need to step back a little and listen and try to read her reaction to any extra/different attention you may give her. You will know when the time is right to ask her if she might like to go out with you "on a date." Communication has to be honest; but whatever you do, don't put her in an either/or position where she feels she has to accept the invitation or the friendship is over. I'd rather have 3 really great friends than a date...especially at your young ages. I believe the basis of any lasting relationship is a strong sense of trust that you build through friendship. Find some time to talk with her, away from other people so you both can be as comfortable as possible.

That's a tough one because every girl is different and every girl/guy combo is different.

She might be a little afraid that it might get awkward, if you guys are close friends. But she might also find it flattering and like the attention, perhaps even start liking you back.

I was always that way. If I found out a guy liked me, I'd usually be very flattered and begin liking him, even if I never thought I would.

It could go both ways, though - good or bad. At this point, if you are interested, just tell her. If you are having "more than friendship" feelings, the friendship is already at stake. You can only gain something if you let her know. Even if she is shaky about it at first, time might change her mind. goodluck with this one!

Women are not the same so it depends on her!!!!!. She may just think of you as her best gay guy friend. If she you should talk to her about it before you try to make your moves otherwise you may ruin the relationship
